Student Spotlight: Grainne Stack Mulvihill

As part of the IINH Student Spotlight series, we will be visiting some of our alumni from both our Nutrition & Health Coaching and Nutritional Therapy courses to see what sparked their interest in nutrition, discuss their nutrition philosophies and find out what they’ve been up to since studying with IINH.

Grainne Stack Mulvihill is a recent IINH graduate and Nutrition & Health Coach who specialises in helping her clients to lose weight and build a guilt-free, consistent relationship with food. Her approach focuses on small, sustainable habits and education rather than restriction or shame.

ABOUT GRAINNE STACK MULVIHILL

My name is Grainne Stack Mulvihill and I’m a Nutrition & Health Coach. I help people lose weight and finally enjoy food guilt-free—no restriction, no more starting over. What I learned during my training was transformative: understanding how your mind associates with food and the behaviours that influence our perception of it unlocked so much for me. When you understand those patterns, you can build stronger habits and remove the roadblocks that stand between people and their goals.

CAN YOU DESCRIBE A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE OR ACHIEVEMENT SINCE GRADUATING?

Securing my first paying client and experiencing successful, sustained weightloss through her has been incredibly rewarding. It validated my training and gave me the confidence to build my coaching practice.

HOW HAS YOUR TRAINING INFLUENCED YOUR APPROACH TO HEALTH AND WELLNESS?

My approach is holistic and in-depth, focusing on small compounding steps rather than overwhelming, broad-scale plans. It’s tailored to each and every person, which means success is significantly more probable than generic routes. I start small, build up habits step by step, and motivate through education rather than guilt or shame.

HOW HAVE YOU SEEN YOUR WORK POSITIVELY IMPACT OTHERS?

I’ve seen weight loss, improved mood, increased energy, confidence, self-trust, and genuine excitement about growth in my clients. The transformation goes far beyond the physical, it’s about helping people reconnect with themselves.

WHAT’S BEEN THE MOST UNEXPECTED OR EXCITING PART OF YOUR JOURNEY SO FAR?

How much I enjoyed the cooking day during training. It reminded me of the value of in-person contact and the difference genuine connection can make. That experience has shaped how I approach my coaching; I bring that same energy and human connection to everything I do.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE THINKING ABOUT STUDYING WITH IINH?

Do it! It will help you, your family, your friends, and potentially the lives of many others too. The investment in yourself now creates ripples of positive change far beyond what you might expect.
