Nutritional Therapy Student Clinic

Nutritional Therapy can help with many health concerns such as digestive complaints, skin issues, poor energy, cardiovascular health, hormonal imbalances, mental health, low immunity and weight management. Or perhaps you are just looking for meal plan ideas and inspiration!

Nutritional Therapy Online Consultations

All our Nutritional Therapy sessions will happen online only.

Once you have chosen a suitable slot and made a payment, you will be asked to complete and submit a pre-consultation questionnaire and a 3-day food diary.

Throughout your appointment with our Nutritional Therapy online clinic, we will connect you with a final year student.

The student will conduct the consultation under supervision of a fully qualified, experienced clinic supervisor.

There will also be a maximum of 4 IINH students observing your consultation. They have signed confidentiality agreements to say that they:

a) understand that each video consultation must be treated as strictly confidential.
b) agree never to share any information relating to the consultations with anyone other than their tutor/mentor or NT students within their group.
c) agree not to enter your personal details on any documentation. (This includes name, address, email and phone number).

Throughout the first 45 minutes, you will be asked questions relating to your diet, lifestyle, health history, etc. You will then be asked to leave the meeting for for about 25 minutes whilst the student discusses their findings with the supervisor.

Throughout the second half of the consultation, you will be given personalised nutrition, supplement and lifestyle recommendations, these will include menu ideas. If it is thought some testing may be useful, this will be discussed with you.

Additional Info

Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutritional science to promote one’s health potential through individually formulated nutrition and lifestyle changes.

It promotes the benefits of wholesome, unprocessed foods for optimal well-being, as well as the therapeutic effects of particular foods for specific health conditions. Nutritional Therapists use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns.

Nutritional Therapy treats the body as a whole, while seeking the root source of health concerns rather than simply treating the symptoms. It is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing.

Nutritional Therapy practioners consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a “one-size-fits-all” approach.

Before the first consultation you will be asked to complete a pre-consultation questionnaire and a 3-day food diary.

Throughout your appointment with our Nutritional Therapy student clinic, we will have 1 student who will take the consultation under supervision of a fully qualified, experienced supervisor.

Throughout the first 45 minutes you will be asked questions relating to your diet, lifestyle, health history, etc. You will then be asked to leave the online meeting for about 25 minutes whilst the student discusses their findings with the supervisor.

Throughout the second half of the consultation, you will be given personalised nutrition, supplement and lifestyle recommendations, these will include menu ideas. If it is thought some testing may be useful, this will be discussed with you.

We will ask you to return for a follow up visit where possible, generally 4-6 weeks after the first visit. This is included in the fee. The purpose of the follow up consultation is to monitor your progress and make any necessary any adjustments.

Further follow up visits may be required, depending on the individual situation.

Initial consultation will take up to 2 hours. Follow up consultations will take approx 1.5 hours.

For protection of your confidentiality we use a registration number instead of name, address, etc. Our students are all aware of confidentiality requirements and have signed agreements to this affect. The college will ensure that any notes/information taken outside the clinic will not contain any personal identifiable information.

The fee for a consultation is €60. This will include your first visit and a follow-up visit. Any visits after that (if needed) will be charged at €30.

On occasion the supervisor or the student may wish to contact you with further information, generally by email and only with your consent. If you wish to contact either the student or supervisor in between consultations, please email clinic@iinh.net.

Go to our booking system.
You will see all available appointments and you can book and pay at the same time.

Appointments may be cancelled with full refund up to 72 hours before your appointment.

Please note that the organisation taking payments (Stripe) does not refund the booking charge, therefore a refund minus approx €0.50 will be made.

On confirmation of your booking, we will ask you to complete and submit a pre-consultation form and a 3-day food diary. This will help the students to thoroughly prepare and also speed up the consultation process.

We always prefer to see clients in person for at least the first meeting, however due to the risks involved with close contact whilst corona virus restrictions are in place, we now only hold online consultations. (Via Zoom, not Skype)

Contact us for further information if you would like to find out more.

You will be asked to agree Terms of Engagement.
