About Ayisha Lightbourne
I’ve always been passionate about health and wellbeing, and over the years I found myself naturally supporting others—especially people navigating long-term health conditions. I became particularly interested in how evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle support could improve quality of life for those living with muscular dystrophy.
That interest turned into something more—something I wanted to build into a career. I knew I needed a solid foundation to back up what I was doing, and that’s what led me to study at IINH.
Tell us a little about yourself and what you were doing before the course.
Before I started studying with IINH, I was exploring ways to improve my own health and wellbeing. I’ve always had a deep interest in how nutrition and lifestyle affect the body, particularly for people living with chronic conditions. Over time, that interest grew into a passion for supporting others—especially those navigating the complexities of muscular dystrophy.
What made you decide to study Nutrition and Health Coaching?
I wanted to expand my knowledge and feel confident that the information I was sharing was rooted in science. IINH’s focus on evidence-based learning really stood out to me. It offered the opportunity to understand not only the “what” and “why” of nutrition, but also how to work with people in a real-world, supportive way.
What did you enjoy most about the course?
The blend of coaching and science was exactly what I needed. I particularly valued learning how to meet clients where they are and support them without judgment. The course gave me a practical framework to help others create lasting change in their own lives.
What are you doing now?
I now run Nourished with Ayisha, where I work one-to-one with clients to help them reconnect with their bodies, reduce stress and fatigue, and improve their overall wellbeing. I specialise in working with people living with muscular dystrophy, as well as women looking to build sustainable, healthy routines around their busy lives.
One highlight of my work so far was supporting a client who wanted to prepare her body for pregnancy. We worked together on her goals, and six months after our sessions ended, I received the most heartwarming message—she was five months pregnant. Helping women reach their goals, no matter how big or small, is what I love most about what I do.
What advice would you give someone considering studying at IINH?
If you’re curious, trust that instinct. The course is practical, evidence-based, and incredibly empowering. It gave me the tools and confidence to turn my passion into a purposeful career—and to help others live healthier, more connected lives.
