Sesame & Manuka Chocolate Truffles

These cute tiny Sesame & Manuka Chocolate Truffles are a luxurious little treat with a healthy twist. Made with rich 70% dark chocolate, toasted sesame, and creamy tahini, they are packed with antioxidants, healthy fats, and deep, nutty flavour. The Manuka honey lends a gentle sweetness, whilst orange zest adds a lovely citrus hit, complementing the warming spice of cardamom. A nourishing twist on classic chocolate indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 180 g dark chocolate 70% cocoa solids
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp light tahini
  • 2 tsp Manuka honey
  • ¼ tsp cardamon
  • ¼ tsp Himalayan salt
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 2 tsp orange juice

Method

  • Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of gently simmering water (bain-marie), with the base just above the water. Melt slowly, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  • Stir in 1½ tbsp sesame seeds with all the tahini, Manuka honey, cardamom and salt, plus the orange zest and juice. Mix well until fully combined.
  • Spoon the mixture into small bun cases or petit four trays (I used silicone moulds), then sprinkle the remaining sesame seeds over the top.
  • Leave to set, then store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Maggie's Tips

Will keep for up to 1 month in the fridge.
• These are even better the next day, once the flavours have had time to settle and mellow.
• Vegan Friendly; Replace Manuka Honey with Maple Syrup or alternative sweetener such as date syrup
Check the chocolate is both vegan friendly and gluten free.
