Nutritional Therapists of Ireland is the professional association supporting qualified NTs in Ireland. It is the only Irish association affiliated with the British Association of Nutritional Therapists (BANT), and shares a common code of ethics and practice. All NTOI members are qualified via accredited courses recognised by the Nutritional Therapy Council (NTC), the regulating body for Nutrition. The NTC mission is to establish, uphold and advance the standards of qualifications, competence and conduct of those who practise Nutritional Therapy. All NTOI members are trained in clinical practice. They are also fully insured and must comply with the BANT and NTOI requirements for continuing professional development.
The EU has set in motion a chain of directives designed to outlaw or severely weaken several ways in which Europeans choose to safely promote their own health. This legislation (the EU Food Supplements Directive) is expected to provide the blueprint for global harmonisation of food supplements, which is currently being addressed by Codex Alimentarius. The Alliance for Natural Health (ANH) was founded in 2002 and is a UK-based, internationally-active, non-governmental organization, working to help positively shape the regulatory and scientific framework affecting natural health.
As an alliance, the ANH brings together, globally, scientists, medical doctors, integrative practitioners, lawyers and consumers, as well as suppliers of food supplements and other health foods, as a means of working towards the development of sustainable approaches to healthcare. Maggie passes on her skills and enthusiasm by teaching a variety of cooking demonstration classes and workshops. Exploring the inspirational pleasure of wonderful food cooked and presented in a professional yet relaxed setting. At the end of the demonstration you get to sample the culinary creations with a glass of wine and a friendly chat. Specialised courses are ongoing, including Slim & Healthy; Whole Foods; Healthy Fast Food for Kids; Cooking with Tofu, Tempeh, Seitan and Sea Vegetables; Creative Cooking for Coeliacs; Vegetarian & Vegan Delights; Cooking without Dairy, Sugar, Wheat; Cooking for Healthy Hormones; Brain Food for Kids, Simple and Nutritious Food for Senior Citizens. A Portal to the Cultivate Centre, Powerdown Community, FEASTA, The Village, GM-Free Ireland, Sustainability and Stop Climate Chaos. The Novara Centre was set up as a response to the public's awareness of and interest in different apporaches to well being. The founders of the Novara Centre have brought together highly skilled, experienced and qualified practitioners to work as a multi-disciplinary team in the centre of Bray.
